Aujourd'hui, c'est découverte de la ville de Bruxelles. Je pars tôt le matin pour profiter un maximum de ma journée. La nuit fut courte (5h de sommeil...) car on est sorti en ville hier soir, dans un bar dansant. Mais je tiens le choc et c'est parti pour l'exploration de la ville.
La ville est grande, il y beaucoup de choses à ne pas louper. Ici aussi, ils parlent X langues... Le français et le néerlandais sont monnaies courantes, et l'anglais est couramment parlé dans la rue... C'est pas en France qu'on pourrait voir les gens parler autant de langues...

Je commence par m'arrêter à la Grand-Place : les bâtiments sont magnifiques ! L'hôtel de ville et la Maison du Roi, mais aussi les nombreux bâtiments très jolis ainsi que les rues pavés. Je me promène dans la ville, les gens sont accueillant, chaleureux. Il fait beau et chaud, le temps idéal pour se balader en ville.
Je me dirige ensuite vers la Cathédrale Saints-Michel-et-Gudule de Bruxelles. L'intérieur est beau et l'orgue grandiose !
Puis je traverse le parc de Bruxelles, situé entre le Palais de la Nation et le Palais Royal (encore deux bâtiments avec une architecture incroyable !). Je marche donc vers les bâtiments européen, et plus exactement vers le Parlement Européen. On me refoule à l'entrée de la visite de l'hémicycle (endroit où se tiennent les réunions des députés européens) car ce n'est pas la bonne heure pour visiter. Dommage car je ne pourrais pas revenir, je vais donc au Parlamentarium (centre des visiteurs du Parlement Européen) où l'histoire et le fonctionnement de l'union européenne sont bien expliqués. Très bon petit musée, et gratuit en plus !
Je repars du Parlement Européen, je m'arrête flâner sur le Grand Sablon, une place où de nombreuses spécialités belges sont vendues. Pas de place dans mon sac donc je ne peux rien prendre... C'est bien dommage ça car il y a de nombreuses choses qui me font de l'oeil (bières artisanales, chocolat bruxellois...).
J'effectue un rapide tour au sein du palais de justice, magnifique bâtiment aussi (cependant pas très beau de l'extérieur : un peu noir comme bâtiment...).
J'ai ensuite rendez-vous avec le SVI (Service Volontaire International) pour discuter sur le volontariat que je m'apprête à effectuer en Estonie mais aussi sur l'après-Estonie. J'ai des pistes, il suffit juste de les concrétiser... Les gens de l'association du SVI sont super sympa : très bon accueil, souriant et surtout au top ! Bref, que de bonnes choses qui s'annonce avec cet organisme...
Après ce rendez-vous très intéressant, je suis parti voir le Manneken Pis, la fameuse statue de Bruxelles (statue d'un enfant qui 'pisse', transformé en fontaine). C'est une statue qu'il faut bien chercher car elle est cachée au coin de deux rues. Non loin de cette statue se trouve un pan entier d'un immeuble où un extrait d'une bande dessinée de Tintin est dessinée (eh oui, Tintin est belge !).
Après tout ça, petit retour par la Grand-Place, qui est vraiment très belle, puis direction le tram pour rentrer à la maison.

Un peu fatigué après cette longue journée, mais content d'avoir fait si plein de choses ! Bruxelles est une ville géniale !

Today, let's go discovering Brussels city. I went out early in the morning to take benefit of the day. The night was quite short (5 hours of sleeping...) because we went out in town yesterday evening, in a dancing bar. But here I am, ready to go to explore the city.
The city is huge, lots of things doesn't have to be missed. Here also, they are speaking X languages... They speak french and dutch everywhere, and English is usually spoken in the street... It's not going to happen in France, to see people speaking so many languages...

I started by a stop at on the 'Grand-Place' : buildings are such beautiful ! The Town Hall and the King's house, but also the other many buildings are amazing, including the cobbled streets. I walked in the city, people are hospitable and welcoming. It's a nice day and it's hot, the ideal weather to have a walk in town.
Then I went to the 'Saints-Michel-and-Gudule Cathedral of Brussels. Inside is really beautiful and the organ is spectacular !
Then I crossed the Brussels' park, which is situated between the 'Palace of the Nation' and the royal palace (two more buildings with incredible architecture !). Thus I walked towards the European buildings area, and more exactly towards the European Parliament. I tried to get inside, to visit the hemicycle ( that's the place where they are making the meetings with the European Members), because it wasn't the right hour to visit. It's a pity because I am not going to come back here, so I decided to go to the Parlamentarium (visitors' center of the European Parliament). In that place the history of Europe is explaining and also how European Union is functioning : that's really well explained. Very nice (and small) museum, and free !
I left the European Parliament and I stopped to stroll on the Grand Sablon's place : a square (more than a place) where you can buy so many different belgium specialities. I don't have any place left in my bag so I didn't take anything... It's a pity because there was lots of things that could be great for sure (home-made beers, Brussels chocolate...).
I went very quickly inside of the law court : another really nice building also (however not that beautiful from outside : it looks like a black building...).
Then I had to meet the SVI organization (International Volunteering Service), to discuss about the voluntary service which I going to do in Estonia, to get ready for that. We also discussed about what to do after Estonia... I have some ideas in mind and now I just have to concretize them... The people of that association are really nice : welcoming, smiling and really great ! Well, only good things is going to happen during this voluntary service with that organization...
After this very interesting appointment, I went to see the Manneken Pis : the most famous statue of Brussels (statue of a child who is 'pissing', transformed into a fountain). You really have to look well after that statue because it is quite hidden in the corner of two streets. Not far from this statue is a whole piece of a building wall where an artist draw an extract of a comic of Tintin (oh yes, Tintin is Belgium !).
After all of that, I went back to the 'Grand-Place', which is a really nice place, and then I took the tram to go back home.

I am a little bit tired after this long day, but really satisfied to have made so many things ! Brussels is a really cool city !
